The fight goes on within Iran.

Posted by Julirose on 6 July 2009

The Iranian people held a revolution 30 years ago to oust a non-democratic government set in place by a foreign government.  Promises were made by the revolutionaries that Iran would be a true Islamic democracy.  When those people failed to keep their promise, the people of Iran refused to accept that failure.

The world stood with them until actions of the government endangered their lives.  Although the green has faded elsewhere, the support has not. The decision was made not to give the ruling council an excuse to murder its own citizens.

The fight for an honest democratic election process in Iran continues with members of the clergy speaking out against the actions of the ruling council.   Should the ruling council win this round, they can be assured that the next one will not go down so easily.  I have faith in the Iranian people to not give up on their democracy.
