The Chase

Benny ran across the lawn as quickly as he could, trying very hard to stay ahead of his very angry pursuers.

It all began in the garden where Benny had been poking around smelling the flowers. Their sweet smell had tempted him to enter.  Their bright colors lured him further in.  He lost track of where he was as he wandered about smelling all the pretty flowers.

As he neared the concrete walkway, the trouble began.  His poking around had been noticed by others and they weren’t happy about him being there.  After all, this was their garden and they were determined to defend it.

When Benny realised the trouble that he was in, he took off across the grassy lawn.  Zigging right and zagging left didn’t help him shake his angry pursuers as they continued to dive bomb him.  Terrified by their relentless attacks, he stopped running and crouched into a little ball on the ground, hiding his face from his tormentors.

It was suddenly quiet.  Benny timidly checked around and, seeing his pursuers gone, went home.

Who or what is Benny?  Who or what is chasing him?
