I’ve Lost My Mind – Oh No, Wait, There It Is!

How to find lost or mislaid items.

Rule number one – DON’T PANIC! Panic clouds the thought processes. Try to stay calm. Take a deep breath, if that helps you calm down.

Okay, now that you are calm, ask yourself, “Where was the last place I saw it?”

You’ve looked there already? Were you calm when you first looked? Look again, slowly this time, pretending that you have the object in your hand and need to put it away somewhere. Don’t think about where you should have put it. Think about where you are likely to have put it from where you were when you last had it.

Still no luck? Slowly expand your search radius to nearby drawers, file cabinets, boxes, briefcases, etc. Don’t be afraid to check coat pockets. And if you are a woman and change purses often, make a point of checking out the last handbag you used as you may have left it there.

Good luck on your search!
